Worst Fast Foods For College Students

Admit it – we’ve all been guilty. We’ve all craved eating fast foods as it’s convenient and you can’t argue that it is delicious. Most college students are too busy to prepare their food that they resort to fast foods to satisfy their hunger. It is also used as comfort foods by some when they get stressed out, which most college students experience.

But the problem with fast foods is that it is unhealthy. Consuming too much for prolonged periods has negative implications for one’s health. With the current situation, we are in today, you need to be healthy to survive and to thrive.

Here are some of the worst fast foods you can eat. Take note; it’s not that they are not delicious; it’s just that they are unhealthy.

Wendy’s Pretzel Bacon Pub Triple Cheeseburger

This burger comprises three of Wendy’s square beef patties covered in beer cheese sauce, smoky honey mustard, crispy fried onions, applewood smoked bacon, pickles, and a slice of cheese. Sounds tasty, but with 1520 calories and 106 grams of fat, you need to be extra careful if you plan on eating this regularly.

KFC Chicken and Donut Sandwich

Imagine two of the world’s best comfort foods made into a delicious meal. KFC’s signature fried chicken is coupled with two glazed donuts. Now any meal with that much sodium and sugar simultaneously is something you might want to stay clear from.

Dairy Queen Oreo Mocha Fudge Blizzard Treat

DQ Blizzards has been known for creating such wonderful desserts. This particular dessert is made up of Oreo cookies crushed into pieces together with chocolate chunks and coffee blended vanilla soft serve. If you plan to take in sugar equivalent to more than 131 actual Oreo cookies, then this dessert should be on top of your list.

Arby’s Market Fresh Cranberry and Fried Turkey Sandwich

This meal should remind you of Thanksgiving with its combination of deep-fried turkey breast, pepper bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, mayo with cranberry and tomato. It sounds delicious, but with 820 calories and more than 2000 milligrams of sodium in it, that is worth thinking about.

Chick-fil-A Peppermint Chip Milkshake

This version of everybody’s favorite comfort drink is loaded with actual chips of peppermint bark and topped off with whipped cream with a cherry on top. Everything here is good except for the 950 calories and sugar worth of 28 Oreo cookies. Now that is a celebration not worth celebrating.

Sonic BBLT

This in-demand burger was brought back by Sonic for a limited time back in 2020. It is made out of lettuce, tomato, bacon, and mayo. Sounds harmless, right? Not until you realize you are eating 600 calories with more than 1300 milligrams of sodium.

Domino’s Cheeseburger Pizza

If you are a pizza and burger lover, then this is the perfect meal for you. This pizza is made of ground beef topped with a mustard ketchup burger sauce, cheddar cheese, and provolone. Oh, we forgot about the tomatoes, bacon, and onion. The entire pie is around 1064 calories and has more than two days’ worth of daily allowable sodium intake.

A&W Sriracha Cheese Curds

There is something about spicy foods that makes them more delicious. So when A&W decided to add a sriracha flavor to their signature cheese curds, everyone went for it. Unfortunately, deep-fried cheese, as-is, is a food you should think twice before eating. Now adding spice means you’ll be tempted to eat more. Just keep in mind that a large order of this is around 1000 calories.

KFC’s Secret Recipe Fries

These fries replaced their iconic potato wedges and contained the same herbs, and spices of their chicken’s secret recipe. It may taste good, but with more than 1000 milligrams of sodium for a side dish, this is a bit overkill.

The foods on this list are in doubt some of the tastiest food available in the market. Well, that is the point of comfort foods. It has to be delicious to make people happy. Unfortunately, if you try to think about the negative effect it will cause on your health, you might want to reconsider your option. It is nice to eat them every once in a while but avoid eating them regularly.
