Order NowSelf- Care Tips For College Students, You Deserve It
We know that college students have a lot on their hands. You have your reports to finish and exams to study for. However, it is a must that you do self-care. Otherwise, you might not perform well in your academics and in other areas of your life.
Get Enough Sleep
Again, we understand that your plate might be full and 24 hours a day seems not to be enough for everything. But you have to get decent sleep if you want to work fast and to focus on your school. Make it your priority.
Of course, there will be invites to parties and all those gatherings. But you have to learn how to say no. Once in a while, you can go to these parties. Just make sure that you don’t have anything to do the next day. Otherwise, you will have to stay up all night trying to finish a report which you could have done earlier if you were not in a party.
Become More Active
You need to take care of your body and one of the ways to do this is to exercise. Ok, so probably what’s running in your head is that you don’t have time to do that. Quite frankly, that’s a lame excuse. There are subtle ways to flex those muscles.
Here’s one. You should walk around your campus. If your apartment is near, then skip the cab or your car and just ride the bike or walk. Also, a 20-minute run shouldn’t eat up your day.
Don’t Overstudy
This might seem like a bit of odd advice for many, but this is what we meant. When you are in college and you have so much to do, you tend to study too much, and you don’t give yourself a break. But that’s not going to work.
We always mention in our articles about an effective technique that can improve your productivity. It is called the Pomodoro technique where you work or study for full 20 minutes and then you take a break. It gives you brain time to relax. And you are more than ready to study after your much-deserved rest.
Write A Journal
Sometimes we get stressed because there are so many things going on. Why don’t you declutter your mind? One of the best ways is to write a journal and place your thoughts in there. You can even write down the reasons why you are grateful for your life. These little things could help you and it’s also a form of self-care.
Don’t Be Too Hard On Yourself
Yes, we have big goals and big dreams but don’t be disappointed if what’s going in your life isn’t exactly what you planned. In life, there will be detours and you have to accept that. You need to be resilient and don’t be too hard on yourself. Setbacks do happen and what matters most is that you know how to get back on your feet.
Stay Away From Junk Food
We understand that it can be tempting to just order pizza or burgers to treat yourself. But if you are serious about self-care, then you have to be picky with your food choices. And who says healthy food can’t be tasty? There are a lot of recipes online that you can check out.
Having said that, it’s about time that you learn how to prepare your meals. The great thing about this is you can save tons of money. Plus, you can make this your side business and earn extra cash to pay for college. Now, isn’t that a win-win scenario?
Meet With Your Families And Friends
You shouldn’t isolate yourself. Once in a while, spend time with the people who matter the most. Now, if you are living miles away from them, you should call them up. Good thing that technology allows us to have video calls and you can see them real-time. It eases the feeling of being stressed and alone. And that’s another type of self-care.
Treat Yourself
There’s nothing wrong if you treat yourself with little luxuries. How about going to the movies or buying that nice dress? You’ve been stressing a lot and you need some love. Go ahead and do some of the tips right now.
