How Can You Party Hard While Not Affecting Your Studies

Trying to avoid college parties is like eating pancakes without syrup or Romeo without Juliet. Well, the latter might be overreacting, but it just means that it is part of the college experience everyone should get a chance of being part of. Now here is where you need to be careful. It is ok to party as long as it does not affect your studies. How? This article would show you.

Remember Why You Are In College

The first thing you need to do is to keep in mind why you are studying. Your priority should be to go into class, study, learn and apply everything once you graduate. There are many things to experience in college but try those that can help you with your studies. It is ok to have fun and take a break every once in a while. After all,  you also don’t want to get burnt out from studying all the time.

Do Not Party Every Night

It is one thing to attend parties; it is another if you are doing it on a regular basis. Parties are a great way to relax and ease the tension from all the activities and stress you are getting from school. But overdoing it may also cause you more harm than good. Try to schedule your parties on days where you don’t have a class the following day or when you don’t have to accomplish your schoolwork.

Avoid Procrastinating

If you want to party, then it is a good idea if you try to accomplish all your tasks before the set deadline. This will give you more time to enjoy and not worry about finishing any homework. The earlier you can get it done, the sooner you can cross it out from your to-do list, which means you have the time to attend parties.

Know When To Say No

You got invited to the biggest party of the semester, but the problem is it is your examination week. As much as it is fun to be there, you should be able to know when to decline, especially if it would compromise your studies. The consequences of missing a few college parties are less than what you get if you fail an exam. Remember that there are other parties that you can attend in the future.

Avoid Drinking Too Much Alcohol

Drinking is one way to socialize during parties but make sure that you only drink in moderation. Some students drink too much that they end up getting wasted the following morning, leading them to be late for class or totally missing it. If you can avoid drinking, the better, but if not, make sure that you only have enough to enjoy.

Plot Your Schedule

It will help if you organize and plot your schedule for the semester so that you can already set your expectations. By doing this, you would be able to see which dates you would be free. As a result, you can allocate that for your partying needs. If something unexpected comes up, make sure you keep your calendar updated.

Do Not Skip Class

So how does not skipping class help you enjoy partying? If you don’t skip class, then you won’t have a hard time understanding your lesson. The better you understand, the less time you need to allot time to study about it. Therefore, giving you time to enjoy going out with your friends. But even so, make sure that you still study to help you master them more.

Know Which Parties To Attend

Just because you are invited doesn’t mean that you have to be there. Try to be selective of the parties you are going to. Parties are a good source of network as you can get an opportunity to meet new people outside of your circle.

But you have to be careful about the kind of people you want to be affiliated with. Parties that focus solely on having fun and disregarding studies should be avoided. Remember that you need to surround yourself with people that can help you not bring you down.

College students are not robots. You also need to enjoy and have fun. Partying helps in building your social skills, which is something you can use even after you graduate. Just remember, you can party hard, but you should study harder.
