Best Drinks Before Your Interview, College Guide 

So, you’ve already practiced your interview, and you have the best outfits. But do you know that apart from these, you can also prepare by knowing the perfect drinks before your interview?  

If you want to know more, please read the rest of this post. We’ve looked and research for the right beverages that can improve your mood and increase your alertness. These are important when you are being asked during your job or internship interview.  


If you are a coffee drinker, here’s some good news for you. Drinking coffee can boost your memory, and that should be beneficial whenever you’re going to an interview. But take note that drinking too much coffee can make you look a bit agitated. In that case, you have to drink at a minimum. Just have enough so you can be attentive and alert while being asked by your interviewer. 

Green Tea 

If you do not drink coffee, that’s fine. Another alternative drink where it could also boost your cognitive abilities is green tea. What’s good about tea is that it could also make you feel relaxed. Let’s admit it, interviews can be quite nerve wracking, so having something that can calm down your nerves is not a bad idea. It’s going to help so you can talk and think better.  

Orange Juice  

How about some freshly squeezed oranges? If you must know, vitamin C is good, not just for your immune system but it can also help you think clearly.  

While you are doing interviews, having a clear mind can help you answer even the complex questions. There was even a study wherein those who drank orange juice before their exams fared better than those who didn’t. We believe the same principle applies when it comes to job interviews. 

Green Juices  

Perhaps, it’s about time that you try out the green juices. Surprisingly, these are delicious if you use the right ingredients. It’s not heavy to make you feel sluggish during the interview, but it’s good enough to make you feel full. With that, you can answer interview questions the best possible way. You can add protein powders and even honey to make the taste even more pleasing.  

Banana Smoothie  

If you wish to have additional energy, then we highly recommend that you prepare a banana smoothie. What’s even better is if you have an insulated tumbler where you could put your smoothie and take it with you. Of course, we’re not saying that you have to drink it while having the interview proper. But it’s also a good substitute whenever you are hungry and there’s no restaurant nearby.

Another great beverage that could be beneficial when you are about to have an interview is an avocado smoothie. It tastes great, and you are sure to have better memory with this. You can even add kale and spinach to make it healthier.  

Turmeric Latte 

Over the years, turmeric has become popular worldwide due to its health benefits. But did you know that it could specifically help you with your cognitive abilities?  

How about making your own turmeric latte and have a higher chance of acing that interview? Making this should not take you a lot of time. Plus, you’re going to enjoy its amazing taste.  


Most of the time, your interviewer will offer you a glass of water. At first, you might be hesitant to accept it. But you know what, that will do you good.  

What if your interview session will last for a long time? It would be hard to speak when your mouth is dry. So, if you are being offered a glass, then politely accept it. There is nothing wrong with that. However, we do not recommend that you gulp liters and liters of water before your interview. That will require you to excuse yourself to the restroom. Just make sure you are hydrated, and that should be enough.   

We know that this is a no-brainer, but make sure to avoid alcoholic drinks, not just on the day of your interview but even the night before. That way, you can rest well and will not have a hangover. Spare that bottle of beer once you already have the job. In the meantime, choose the beverages we listed above.
